HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Evangel Men's Soccer hit the road on Saturday (Sept. 5) afternoon, taking on the Champion Christian Tigers in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Despite both teams battling through a scoreless first half, the Valor would use a pair of goals from Miguel Santos to fuel Evangel to a 2-1 win on the road.

On what proved to be a hot Saturday afternoon, neither team was able to score in the first half, as both teams battled to a scoreless first period with Evangel coming up just short on several occasions.

Evangel swung momentum in the second half in their favor, as Miguel Santos would score back-to-back goals to give EU a 2-0 advantage over the home Tigers. Champion Christian would add a goal late, but the damage had been done on Saturday, as Evangel brought home a 2-1 victory in full time.

HIGHLIGHTS

• Miguel Santos scored a pair of goals to lead Evangel, his second and third of the season.

• Valentin Goity earned his second win of the season in goal on Saturday.
