SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Men's Soccer closed out their 2026 campaign on Saturday (Oct. 31) afternoon, taking on the Tabor College Bluejays. The Valor fought on Saturday and held a 2-1 advantage, but a late Tabor goal tied the game up, as both teams took a 2-2 draw to close their seasons in full time.
Evangel dominated the pace of play to open Saturday's contest, putting several shots on goal to keep the Tabor backline on their heels. The Valor broke through on the scoreboard after a foul in the box gave EU a penalty kick that Miguel Santos buried, giving the Valor a 1-0 advantage. Tabor's offense picked up the pace late in the first half and were able to even the score just before the halftime break, 1-1.
Tabor controlled the pace of play to open the second half, putting shots on goal that Valentin Goity and the Valor defense were able to deny. At the 68:50 mark, Hayes Van Breusegen used a pass from Santos to bury a shot in the back of the goal, giving EU a 2-1 advantage. The Valor held the lead for just two minutes, as the Bluejays evened the score at the 70:55 mark, making it a 2-2 ballgame.
