WICHITA, Kan. – After opening the season with a strong showing at the OKC Stars Invite, freshman Abby Ferguson was awarded the KCAC Defensive Player of the Week honor, helping the Valor move to 2-1 on the season.

Ferguson recorded 19 total blocks on Friday and Saturday, averaging 1.58 blocks per set.

Abby also recorded 11 kills from the middle blocker position, swinging a .360 attacking percentage.

Ferguson currently ranks fifth in the nation for blocks per set (by players who have played at least two games).

Valor Volleyball returns to action on Tuesday (Aug. 25) evening at 6:00 p.m. against Central Methodist.
