SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Valor Volleyball returns home on Tuesday (Aug. 25) evening at 6:00 p.m., to play host to former HAAC rival, Central Methodist, aiming to continue their strong start to their non-conference schedule.

OPENING STORYLINES

The Valor went 2-1 in their opening weekend of play, taking wins over LSU-Shreveport and Wayland Baptist, while falling to host Oklahoma City.

Freshman Abby Ferguson earned KCAC Defensive Player of the Week honors on Monday, after recording 19 blocks (team lead, fifth in nation) over the weekend in Oklahoma.

Simone Johnson currently leads Evangel in kills with 29 so far this year, after a strong 17-kill performance against Wayland Baptist on Saturday.

The setting duo of Jessica Pritchett (54 assists) and Brooklyn Claxton (45 assists) currently helps EU average 9.83 assists per set.

Pritchett also leads the Valor in service aces so far this season with five.

Addison Jones has been everywhere defensively for Evangel, currently leading the team with 57 digs, averaging 4.75 per set.

Evangel is 45-38-1 all-time against Central Methodist, last competing against the Eagles on October 27th of 2022, falling 3-1.

Valor Volleyball hits the road to head south, taking part in the Texas Two-Step on Friday and Saturday (Aug. 28/29) taking on Texas A&M-Texarkana, Texas Wesleyan, Nelson, and Our Lady of the Lake.
