Jerry Breaux to be Inducted into Missouri Sports Hall of Fame

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – After an exceptional collegiate coaching career, former Evangel Softball head coach Jerry Breaux is set to be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame later this month.

Breaux has been a member of the coaching staff for 24 seasons at Evangel University (1994-2015, 2025-current), where the teams have gone 725-405-2 (updated on May 4th, 2026) and won 12 conference championships. They made 11 appearances in NAIA Regional Tournaments and reached the NAIA World Series in 2006. He was the head coach for 640 of the program's 661 wins in the team's first 28 years of existence, was named the NAIA Region V Coach of the Year twice, and the Heart of America Athletic Conference Coach of the Year six times. Coach Breaux earned his 900th career coaching victory last season while serving as a co-head coach and was inducted into the Evangel Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014. These days, he is working for the Branson Parks & Recreation.

Coach Breaux will be honored on Tuesday, May 19th at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Spring Sports Luncheon at 11:00 a.m. at the Wilson Logistics Arena on the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds, here in Springfield.

Sponsorship tables of eight are $600 and include recognition in the printed program and at the table. A head table ticket is $100 and includes the same perks. An individual ticket in advance is $75.
