KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- After earning the KCAC regular season and conference tournament title, the Evangel University women's basketball team found out their seeding and who would join the Valor in Springfield next week for the NAIA National Tournament First and Second Rounds.
Evangel earned the four seed and is set to host 13-seeded University of Science & Arts (Okla.) on Friday (Mar. 13) evening at 5:00 PM. Also joining both teams in Springfield is 5-seeded William Carey (Miss.) and 12-seeded Shawnee State (Ohio), who will face-off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday (Mar. 13) evening.

The Valor return to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time since 2019-20 and in their first season under head coach Madi Wallace. Evangel will host the Springfield Opening Round, as four teams will take part in one of 16 opening round sites around the country with the winner at each site advancing to the NAIA National Championship Final Site in Sioux City, Iowa as the sixth year for the updated basketball format in the NAIA.
Evangel earned its bid by earning the automatic bid from the KCAC, after sweeping the regular season and conference tournament title. The Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference brings four teams to this season's tournament, (6) Friends, (11) Bethel, and (13) Saint Mary.
The Valor enter the tournament at 27-2 under the direction of first-year head coach Madi Wallace. Wallace, an Evangel alum and former women's basketball player at EU, has helped guide the Valor to the postseason for the first time in six years, and earned Evangel's first sweep of conference titles since 2004-05.
