SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Eight Evangel Valor men's and women's basketball athletes were honored on Tuesday by being named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for the 2025-26 season.
Graduates Drew McMillin and Cassidy Hambelton were joined by seniors Garrett Davault, Carson Dillard, and Ali Kamies, as well as juniors Harrison Doennig and Heaven Shockley, and sophomore Jacob Lafferty in earning the academic honor.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
These athletes had to meet several requirements to garner the honor, including competing in at least 90% of games played, having a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and being at least a sophomore in academic status.
Cassidy Hambelton, Carson Dillard, Heaven Shockley, Ali Kamies, and Garrett Davault all advanced to CSC All-American voting, selected by College Sports Communicators. All-American honorees will be announced on April 14th for the men and the 15th for the women.
