SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Volleyball returned home on Saturday, hosting the York Panthers for a KCAC matchup inside AGFinancial Arena. The Valor would slip in the third set, but otherwise cruised to a 3-1 home victory over the Panthers.

Evangel never trailed in set one, taking advantage of several York errors to take a 10-5 lead. The Panthers rattled over small runs in the set, but could never tie the game up, as Lily Lambeth and Simone Johnson led Evangel's charge en route to a 25-22 win in set one.

The Valor again never trailed in set two, as York continued to record attacking errors that kept Evangel ahead on the scoreboard. Charlotte Hawkins and Alyssa Zowaski made a difference in the set, helping guide the Valor to a 25-20 win in set two.

Evangel slipped in set three, as several attacking and service errors from the Valor allowed the Panthers to hold a one-point lead for much of the set. Tied at 15-15, EU used a 4-0 run to take a 19-15 lead over York, but exceptional service from the Panthers resulted in another 4-0 run for York, tying the game up at 19-19. Taylor Williams recorded a late kill to tie the game up at 24-24, but York would score the final two points, as an EU service and attacking error closed the set in favor of the Panthers, 26-24.

York would lead 9-8 to open the fourth set, but Evangel found momentum and would not be stopped in the set, as Cienna Turner, Hawkins, and Johnson all found a rhythm, while Brooke Daniels served the Panthers tough with four aces, generating a 14-0 EU run. The Valor cruised to victory, capped off with a Charlotte Hawkins kill, 25-11.
