SALINA, Kan. – Evangel Volleyball traveled to Salina on Saturday (Sept. 27) morning, taking on Kansas Wesleyan and Haskell at the KWU Tri-Match. The Valor took care of business on the road, taking a 3-1 win over the Coyotes, where Vivianna Sanchez would record 15 total blocks, and sweeping Haskell for the second consecutive time this season, moving to 20-2 this season.

The Valor defense forced Kansas Wesleyan to hit negative in set number one, recording six blocks in the set and forcing four additional attacking errors to take a 25-16 win in set one. Sharayah Seymour and Vivianna Sanchez both recorded three kills in the set one win.

Evangel led 16-14 midway through the second set, but the Valor would slip offensively, as Kansas Wesleyan went on a 6-1 run to take a lead that they would not relinquish, forcing the Valor to fall, 25-21.

Both teams traded 4-0 runs to open set three, before KWU jumped out to a 13-11 lead. Evangel would tie the game up at 17-17, before the Valor recorded five kills, all from different athletes en route to a 25-22 victory.

Evangel jumped out to a 16-7 run to open the final set of play, but the home Coyotes would fight, going on an 11-2 run to tie the game up at 18-18. Vivianna Sanchez helped shut down the KWU run, recording blocks and kills to push EU to a 25-23 victory over Kansas Wesleyan.

Set one against Haskell proved to be the closest set of the afternoon, as the Valor came away with a 25-22 win. Six kills from Evangel's Charlotte Hawkins set the pace for the offense, as Haskell fought to attempt a comeback in the set, but the damage had been done, capped off by a Sanchez kill.

Haskell jumped out to an early 6-2 lead, but would swing -.208 overall in the set, as Evangel went on an extended run in a dominant 25-14 win in set two.

The Evangel offense put nothing to question in the final set of play, taking a 25-18 win and sweep of Haskell, swinging .577 in the set as EU recorded 17 kills and just two attacking errors.
