SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Valor Men's Soccer opens their 2025 campaign on the road on Thursday (Aug. 21) afternoon, taking on NCCAA Ozark Christian in Joplin, Mo., at 4:00 p.m.

OPENING STORYLINES

The Evangel Men's Soccer program is coming off their strongest season in program history, going 8-6-4 last year, three more wins then previously held in a single season (2023, 2017).

Leading goal scorer Andrea Fincato returns this season after scoring six goals last year. Also returning for the Valor is Caleb Kuchta (4 goals) and Juyong Kim (3 goals).

Both Fincato and Kuchta scored against the Ambassadors last season on the road.

After the departure of Ryan Garner, the Valor will look for a new lead man to protect the goal, with Tatenda Kahwena, Davide Marzoli, and Fernando Villasenor returning while adding newcomer Malachi Williams.

Evangel and Ozark Christian match up for the third time in program history, with Evangel leading the series, 2-0, scoring five goals in both wins.

Evangel competes in their home opener on Saturday (Aug. 23) afternoon, taking on UHSP at 1:00 p.m. in Springfield (Coryell Field).
