LEAVENWORTH, Kan. – Valor XC traveled to Leavenworth on Saturday (Nov. 8) morning to compete at the KCAC XC Conference Championships. Aiming to earn qualifiers for the NAIA National Championships, Evangel would run well, as both teams finished third overall and earned national qualifiers.

The Valor women were led by a 10th place finish from Kadence Oehlschlager (23:20.96) in the 6k run, while Anna McCune (21st, 24:10.97) and Adriana McGregor (22nd, 24:12.93) rounded out Evangel's top three finishes on Saturday. Both Oehlschlager and McCune qualified for the NAIA national meet with their times and placements on Saturday, while Kadence was named All-KCAC for her effort.

The Valor men also played third as a team behind a 3rd place finish from Nathan Hawbaker (25:19.49). Ethan Montgomery and Ethan Smith rounded out Evangel's top three finishers on Saturday as Montgomery placed 9th with a time of 25:29.77 and Smith finished 14th with a time of 25:42.97. The Evangel men also received the Team of Character honor for their servant leadership. Hawbaker and Montgomery earned All-KCAC honors while Ethan Smith earned honorable mention honors.

Final qualifiers for the national meet will be announced on Tuesday, with Kadence Oehlschlager, Anna McCune, Nathan Hawbaker, and Ethan Montgomery being the only current confirmed runners at the time of writing.
