WICHITA, Kan. – After a strong performance from Ethan Smith at the Queen City After Dark meet in Springfield, the junior was honored by being named the KCAC XC Runner of the Week to open the 2026 season.

Smith ran a 18:59 6k event on Friday, earning a 16th place finish.

Ethan was the third NAIA finisher at the meet, beating out all KCAC competitors on Friday.

Smith and the Evangel XC team return to action on Saturday (Sept. 19) morning in Joplin at the Southern Stampede.
