HILLSBORO, Kan. – Valor Volleyball hit the road on Wednesday (Sept. 25) evening, taking on the Tabor Bluejays in their second conference match of the season. Although dropping set two, Evangel bounced back, taking sets three and four to take a 3-1 win over the Bluejays on the road.

The Valor jumped out to an early lead in set one, going on a 7-2 run to open the set, fueled by strong defensive play. Tabor drew as close at two points away from the Evangel lead, but the Valor defense proved to be too much as EU took a 25-16 win in set one.

Tabor grabbed an early 8-3 lead to open set two, but the Valor fought back to retake the lead over the Bluejays late in the set. A kill from Vivianna Sanchez gave the Valor a 22-21 lead over Tabor, but it would be the Bluejays who found a late 4-1 run against EU, as Tabor squeezed by with the set, 25-23.

After tying the set score at 1-1, it appeared that the Bluejays had most of the momentum against Evangel. Tabor was able to take an 11-8 lead, but self inflicted errors from the Bluejays helped Evangel get back in the set, as the home Bluejays swung a -.065 attacking percentage in the third set. A 5-0 run, capped off with a kill from Sharayah Seymour closed out the set in favor of the Valor, 25-22.

In the fourth and ultimately final set, Tabor kept pace with the Valor, but a late run by Evangel proved to be the difference in the set. Multiple kills and blocks from Evangel hurt Tabor's chances and a kill from Deryan Simpson capped off the night for EU, as the Valor took a 25-20 win in the final set, taking a 3-1 win over Tabor on Wednesday.
