KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Valor Volleyball hit the road on Wednesday (Nov. 6) evening, taking on the Avila Eagles in their final road regular season match of the year. The Evangel offense put forth a dominant night of play, swinging over .300 in every set and recording 53 total kills to take a commanding 3-0 sweep of the Eagles on the road.
Evangel opened set one on Wednesday with kills from Loran Pritchett and Vivianna Sanchez, as well as a service ace from Kenna Wise to take an early 3-0 lead. The Valor did not squander away their lead in the first set, using another pair of service aces and five kills from junior Bella Wakley en route to a 25-17 win in set one.
The Valor recorded just a pair of attacking errors in set two, not giving Avila many free points with the strong EU attack. Sharayah Seymour had a strong second set, recording five kills and a pair of blocks to lead EU to another 25-17 victory in the second set, as Avila could not catch up with Evangel after a 9-3 run to open the set.
In the final set of play on Wednesday, Evangel forced Avila to their worst attacking set of the night, as Evangel's defensive play at the net shined bright. The Valor opened the set with a pair of blocks, pushing out to an early 8-1 lead. An overall team effort with multiple kills coming from Simone Johnson, Wakley, and the eldest Pritchett helped guide Evangel to their final 25-17 set win of the night and sweep of Avila.
