WICHITA, Kan. – Valor Volleyball hit the road on Wednesday (Sept. 20) evening to compete in their second KCAC match of the season, this time facing off with the Falcons of Friends. The Evangel offense had its second best match of the season, hitting a combined .250 and sweeping Friends in three consecutive sets.

Bella Wakley opened set one for Evangel with three consecutive kills, pushing the Valor out to a 3-1 lead. Both teams traded points back to back until EU had a 10-8 lead. A kill by Kenna Wise sparked an Evangel 12-3 run, with a trio of kills coming from Mallory Dick. The Valor ended the set with a Leah Jackson service ace to take a 25-16 victory in set one.

The Falcons had no answer for Evangel's attack in set two, as EU swung .290 to Friends -.083. Evangel raced out to an early 13-4 lead, hitting the 20 point mark before Friends was able to record double digit points. Bella Wakley and Abi Menzies had a pair of big sets for EU, helping push EU to a dominant 25-11 victory in set two.

Evangel and Friends played a competitive set three as both teams pushed to be the first to 25. With EU leading 13-12, a 6-2 run by the Valor proved to be the difference. Three Friends attacking errors, a ball handling error, a service error, and a kill by Vivianna Sanchez made up EU's six points in the run and would give Evangel enough distance in the set to put it away. Sanchez ended the set with a kill, solidifying Evangel's 25-22 win in set three and sweep of the Falcons.

• Leah Jackson led the team with 17 assists in the game.

• Abi Menzies led Evangel with a pair of blocks.
