SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel men's soccer team opens its 2023 season Saturday (Aug. 26) with a 1:00 p.m. non-conference match against the UHSP Eutectics in Creve Couer, Missouri.
Saturday's contest will mark the first of eight road dates for the EU men this fall and begin a two game road trip for the Valor.
OPENING STORYLINES

Evangel will be opening its ninth season overall as a program, their second season under Head Coach Kyle Beard.

EU returns three of their top goal scorers from last season; Rem Harmsworth, Sage Ballard, and Igor Ovcarevic.

Anthony Morales returns in goal for Evangel, after recording 77 saves and allowing just 2.76 goals per game.

Evangel also returns several pieces of a strong defensive back line.

The Valor have reloaded with several newcomers who will look to earn playing time, including transfer Ted Okoroh and freshman Caleb Kuchta.

Saturday will be Evangel's first match up against UHSP in program history.

Evangel continues on a two-match road swing following Saturday's contest, taking on Ecclesia College on Wednesday (Aug. 30) in Springdale, Ark.
