SALINA, Kan. – Valor Volleyball hit the road on Saturday (Nov. 4) morning, looking to pull off the upset of (RV) Kansas Wesleyan, who has only lost a single conference match this season. Evangel came out slow on offense, ultimately falling to the Coyotes in three sets.

Evangel led to begin the match, 3-1, but the Coyotes would fight back to take a lead in the set. Several attacking errors by the Valor offense allowed Kansas Wesleyan to go on a run, that proved to be the difference in the set. The Valor hit just .043 in the set as Evangel fell to the Coyotes, 25-17, led by Bella Wakley's six kills.

The Valor offense struggled in set two, falling 25-15, after hitting -.059. An early 6-1 run by the Coyotes hurt Evangel's chances in the set, after EU could only record five total kills in the set, all by different players for the Valor.

In the third set, Evangel fought back, putting up a strong fight against the Coyotes. After taking a 3-0 lead in the set, KWU was able to tie the game up. Back and forth play occurred between both teams hung with the Coyotes. After KWU was able to take a 21-15 lead over Evangel, the Valor continued to fight. A kill by Mallory Dick, followed by a service ace from Meredith Avery, and a pair of kills from Bella Wakley helped Evangel draw to within two points of the Coyotes, 23-21. A block by Vivianna Sanchez and Simone Johnson put EU down just a single point, but a timeout by KWU led to two straight Coyote points as EU fell, 25-22 in the set.
