SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Valor Volleyball hosted Avila on Wednesday (Nov. 1) evening, looking to grab a win in their home regular season finale and for senior night. Although Evangel started slow in set one, the Valor quickly found their groove, sweeping Avila in straight sets with dominant offensive play.

Evangel came out slow in set one, as Avila actually outhit the Valor in the set, .300 to EU's .286. Despite falling behind, 14-7, the Valor went on a 9-2 run to tie the game up at 16-16. After Avila scored a point, the Valor ended the set on an 8-2 run, highlighted by three kills from Sharayah Seymour, as Evangel took a 25-20 win in the first set.

Evangel's offense slightly tapered in set two, as they hit .262. Luckily, Avila struggled on the attack in set two, hitting -.047. The Valor were able to take a 17-10 lead in the set, but Avila would fight, drawing within two points of Evangel, 17-15. Again, kills by Sharayah Seymour helped Evangel end the set on a high note, taking the win, 25-17, in the set.

The Valor hit a set high of .412 in the final set, their highest in a single set this season. Vivianna Sanchez could not be stopped as Avila struggled against Evangel's middle hitters. Evangel was able to hit 24 points before Avila reached double digits in the set, going on a huge 12-2 run towards the end of the set. Sanchez's final kill of the game ended it in favor of the Valor, 25-10, sweeping the Eagles in straight sets.
