Valor Men's Soccer Looks for Win on Saturday, Hosting Bethel

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – After tying with the Saint Mary Spires on Wednesday night, Valor Men's Soccer looks to break their streak of ties and earn a win against the Bethel Threshers on Saturday (Oct. 7) afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at Coryell Field.

OPENING STORYLINES 

  • Evangel and Saint Mary tied on Wednesday night, giving Evangel their third tie of the season.

  • The Valor have scored 21 goals this season, compared to just four goals by the opponents, which is the least amount of goals allowed in the nation so far this year.

  • Ted Okoroh leads Evangel in goals and assists this season, currently with five and six, respectively. Okoroh is tied for 26th in the nation in assists (6).

  • Ten different athletes have recorded goals this season for Evangel.

  • Evangel is currently averaging 2.33 goals per game and are allowing just 0.44 goals per game, the top defensive mark in the nation.

  • Evangel and Bethel compete in their first ever matchup all-time.

LOOKING AHEAD

Evangel remains at home on Wednesday (Oct. 11) evening, looking to take a win against nationally ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan at 7:30 p.m.
