STERLING, Kan. – Valor Volleyball hit the road after dominating on Wednesday night, taking on the Sterling College Warriors. Evangel continued their strong play on Friday night, putting forth a dominant display to sweep the Warriors in straight sets.
Despite trailing in set one, 14-12, the Valor Volleyball team went on a 6-0 run to take a 18-14 lead over Sterling. The run proved to be exactly what Evangel needed as they maintained their lead over Sterling, ultimately taking a 25-20 win in set one. Bella Wakley played an exceptional set, finishing with seven kills in the set.
Evangel was the beneficiary of a struggling Sterling attack in set two, giving Evangel 11 points in the set alone on attacking errors. The Valor were able to also record several kills in the set, ultimately pushing Evangel to a 25-18 victory in set two.
Evangel and Sterling played their tightest set of the evening in set three. With the score all knotted up at 18-18, a kill by Sharayah Seymour, Bella Wakley, and a block from Mackenzie Stoner and Sharayah Seymour proved to be enough to take the set, as Evangel took a 21-18 lead and the set on a Vivianna Sanchez block, 25-21.
