PARKVILLE, Mo. – Offense was not in short supply in Parkville on Wednesday night as the Valor took down the Pirates, 108-63. Evangel's 108 points is the highest total amount of points scored since November 26th, 1999 when EU scored 110 points in a victory over Arkansas Baptist.

Two weeks ago, the Valor and Pirates needed overtime to decide a winner in Springfield. The first quarter of play appeared to be competitive, just as the first matchup had been, as both teams traded baskets. Alexis Cauthon sparked a 5-0 run for the Valor thanks to free throws and by converting an and-one play. Neither team scored for a brief period until Park went on a 5-2 run to end the quarter, trailing 20-14.

The second quarter saw the Valor begin to pick up the pace on offense. Both teams traded jumpers and then Evangel found their groove. Five different Valor scorers helped spark an 11-2 run to push the score to 34-19. Park could not stop the Valor as they continued to pour it on in the latter part of the second quarter. Logan Jones ended the scoring for the Valor with a layup that made it a 47-25 game at the half. Cauthon led all scorers with 9 points as the Valor shot 56.7% at the end of the first half.

The Valor scored 33 points in the third quarter alone, their highest in a quarter since November 12th of this season against Southwestern. Alexis Roach and Sadie Chisum kicked off the third quarter scoring the Valor's first 11 points, while Park could only muster four points. Abby Wildermuth nailed a three to continue the Valor run in the third and from there it was all Evangel. Bench play proved to be a big factor in the game as Kohnnar Patton found her shot, scoring seven points in the third quarter alone. By the time the buzzer sounded to end the quarter, EU was on top, 80-47. Roach led all scorers with 16 points.

In the final quarter, Evangel continued to pour it on the Pirates. Wildermuth kicked the quarter off with a three, her second consecutive game hitting four threes, and the Valor continued their strong defense and full throttle offense. Great passing set up many baskets in the fourth for the Valor as they finished the game on a 8-4 run, taking the victory, 108-63.

The Valor had six players to score in double digits. Led by Wildermuth and Roach's 16, Chisum tacked on 13, while Cauthon added 11. Patton and Jones rounded out double digit scoring with 10 apiece. Both Sarah Lwambo and Mullings pulled down seven rebounds and Sophie Sparks, Chisum, and Wildermuth passed off four assists. The Valor ended the night with their season high in assists with 22 and their season high shooting percentage of 64.6 percent. Evangel's 42 made field goals also broke the record for most field goals made in a game in Evangel Women's Basketball history.
