SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel men's soccer team went toe-to-toe with the nation's top-ranked club for the first 22 minutes of Wednesday evening's Heart Conference contest, but Central Methodist used a pair of Alessandro Salvadego goals to seize control of an eventual 8-0 victory over the Valor.
CMU added a Marcos German goal in the 42nd minute to take a 3-0 lead into halftime, then tallied five second-half goals to seal the outcome.

- Matheus Porzelt led Evangel with two shots, including one of the Valor's three shots on goal in the match
- Anthony Morales stopped 15 shots in goal for EU
- Salvadego scored in the 22nd minute off of a German assist to give CMU a 1-0 edge, then added a second less than two minutes later
- CMU finished with a 33-5 advantage in total shots, including a 23-3 edge in shots on goal
- Five different Eagles registered second-half goals
- Jayton Johnson scored one of those after assisting on German's first-half goal
- Stefano Camerlengo made three saves in goal in completing the shutout for CMU
