CANTON, Mo. – The Evangel men's soccer team saw its 2020 season come to an end with a 4-1 road setback to Culver-Stockton Monday afternoon at Ellison Poulton Stadium.
The Wildcats scored four unanswered goals after EU took a 1-0 lead just 54 seconds into the contest. Lewis Fairley assisted on Culver-Stockton's first three goals of the match, then added a goal of his own in the 74th minute to help seal the outcome.
Cole Oedewaldt led EU with five shots on goal, including the contest's first score off of a Drew Flippin assist in the opening minute of play.
Travis Nash delivered the equalizing goal just over three minutes later, before Adam Fowler's tally in the 21st minute gave the Wildcats the lead for good.
Eduardo Garcia recorded his first goal of the season for C-SC to send the Wildcats into intermission with a 3-1 advantage, and Fairley's boot late in the contest accounted for the final margin.
The Wildcats finished with a 15-11 edge in shots, with Ryan Houston posting four saves in goal for the home club.
