SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel men's basketball team returns to the Ashcroft Center for the final time in 2019 to host 2nd-ranked Benedictine.
SERIES HISTORY
Evangel leads the all-time series 40-25, however, Benedictine won the first meeting this season in Atchison, Kansas, 75-59. Both teams split the season series last year with the home team winning each game.
OPENING STORYLINES
► Evangel returns to the Ashcroft Center for its final home game of the season against No. 2 Benedictine. The Crusaders lost the first meeting in Atchison, Kansas, however, Evangel holds a 40-25 lead in the all-time series.
► Three Crusaders continue to have three players average in double figures with Chris Stocks at 14.9 ppg, Clark Brewington at 10.9 ppg and Cade Coffman at 10.1 ppg. Both Brewington and Coffman have also shot above 30 percent from behind the three-point line.
► This season Evangel has played 11 games within 10 points or less. Among those 11 games, five have been decided by five points or less while the Crusaders overall are 4-7 in closing out tight ball games.
► The format for the 2019 Heart Postseason Tournament will again be hosted by the highest seed during each round with seeds 7-10 playing first-round games March 5. The championship will be March 12 as the tournament champion earns the league's first auto berth with the regular season champ earning the second auto bid to the national tournament.

Evangel heads to Central Methodist on Saturday for the regular season finale. Tipoff from Fayette, Missouri is scheduled for 4 p.m.
