WICHITA, Kan. – Three Evangel Valor men's basketball standouts have earned KCAC honors with Garrett Davault highlighting the awards, being named to the All-KCAC second team for the second consecutive season, while Jacob Lafferty was named to the All-KCAC third team and Drew McMillin earned honorable mention honors, the league office announced Thursday.
A senior guard from Norwood, Mo., Davault has been Evangel's leading scorer for the entirety of the season, averaging 15.8 points per game, as well as 4.4 rebounds per game for the Valor (3rd on team), while shooting the highest percentage on the team (58.3 percent).
Lafferty, a sophomore transfer from Sparta, Mo., finished the regular season with the second highest scoring average (14.4 ppg), as well as leading EU in rebounds, currently averaging six per contest.
McMillin, a graduate transfer from Republic, Mo., averaged 10.4 points per game (3rd on EU), hitting a team high 50 three pointers and passing off the second most assists this season with 79.
Evangel (18-10) opens play in the KCAC Conference Tournament on Thursday (Feb. 26) night in McPherson, Kan., against the 3-seeded McPherson College Bulldogs in a 7 p.m., contest. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
