Valor and Falcons Faceoff on Saturday for Right to Advance to KCAC MBB Championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel MBB continues postseason play on Saturday (Feb. 28) evening, taking on the #2-seeded Friends Falcons at 7:00 p.m., in Wichita, Kan., for the KCAC Conference Tournament Semifinals, looking to earn a win and advance to the KCAC Championship. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time and can be bought online by clicking here.

SERIES HISTORY

Evangel leads Friends in the all-time series, 3-2, but has lost two straight in the series, including a road loss earlier this season, 88-79.

OPENING STORYLINES

  • Evangel pulled off the upset win on Thursday night against #3 McPherson, 80-78, in the KCAC Quarterfinals.

  • Evangel is led by Garrett Davault, who currently averages 16.0 points per game.

  • Jacob Lafferty and McMillin round out double digit scoring for EU, as they average 14.6 and 10.5, respectively.

  • Lafferty leads Evangel in rebounds per game, averaging 6.1 per contest.

  • The Valor currently outscore their opponents in the second half by an average of 3.4 points.

  • Ty Campbell has passed off a team high 92 assists so far this year.

  • Evangel currently outrebounds their opponents by 2.4 boards per contest.

LOOKING AHEAD

With a win, the Evangel MBB program will take on the winner of #1 Oklahoma Wesleyan and #5 Southwestern contest on Tuesday (Mar. 3) night at 7:00 p.m. in either Bartlesville or Winfield. With a loss, the Valor leave their fate in the hands of the selection committee for an at-large tournament bid. (Currently projected as first team out of NAIA tournament by NAIA Hoops Report Bracketology, but recorded a upset win in the KCAC Quarterfinals)
