SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel battles it out with Avila to end with 1-1 tie after two overtime periods.
Avila's Matt Hodges opened the scoring in the 20th minute off a pass from Daniel Silva. The Crusader's Nick Wagner tied it up in the 27th minute when he stole the ball from one of the defenders right in front of the goal and buried the shot. The rest of game saw plenty of scoring opportunities for both sides, but neither team could break the deadlock, even with two overtime periods.
The Crusaders took 31 shots, with 18 being on goal. Christian Clardy led the way with seven shots.
Josiah Dinwiddie led the way defensively with four saves on five shots on goal.

Evangel will travel to Atchison, Kansas on Wednesday to take on Benedictine at 7:30 p.m to open conference play.
