DES MOINES, Iowa – The Evangel women's basketball team was unable to finish off a rally Tuesday night as Grand View ended the Crusaders season 79-69 in the first round of the Heart Tournament.

The Crusaders battled back from as many as 19 points down on Tuesday night, however, the Vikings shot over 50 percent to hold off any rally from Evangel.

The leading scorer in the conference, Sydnee Garrett, led Evangel with 18 points and five boards. Garrett was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line and recorded three steals as well.

Kylee Moore and Mackenzie Farmer also finished in double figures as Moore added 15 points and six rebounds. Farmer tallied 14 points and five rebounds in the loss for Evangel.

Grand View was led by Blair Silliman with 18 points as the Vikings advance to the Heart Quarterfinals.

Evangel finishes the season at 5-24 overall.
