SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel men's basketball team heads north for the first round of the 2018 Heart Postseason Basketball Tournament to face Graceland University.
OPENING STORYLINES
► Evangel returns to Graceland for the first round of the Heart Postseason Tournament against the No. 2 seed. Evangel lost in the only meeting against the North Division Yellowjackets, 77-75 as a jumper at the buzzer fell short.
► Dylan Bekemeier (Republic, Mo.) crossed the 1,000-point mark for his career with his second straight 30-point game Saturday at Clarke. Bekemeier finished with 31 against the Pride as he's shattered his previous season-high 265 points with 455 points this year.
► Marcus Miller (Republic, Mo.) has moved into eighth place on the Evangel career blocks list with 53. He is currently tied with Chad Gillaspy (2007-11) and Dave Langenbahn (1983-84; 86-89).
► Luke Call (Mt Vernon, Mo.) and Dylan Bekemeier both have made 68 three-pointers this season. The duo is tied for 11th most three-pointers in a single-season and is just three behind 10th place held by Chris Wilson (1997-98) and his 71 three-pointers.
LOOKING AHEAD
Evangel would move on to the Heart Quarterfinals with a win over Graceland. Teams will be reseeded after the first round results as division winners William Penn is the No. 1 seed and Central Methodist is the No. 2 seed.
