KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Coach Megan Leuzinger got a win in her first game of the season as Evangel beat Park University, 62-60.

The Crusaders ended the first quarter behind the Pirates 20-12, but a 15-0 rally to start the second quarter gave them a 34-25 lead at halftime.

The second half had both teams battling each other, with the Crusaders able to do just enough to outlast the Pirates, 62-60.

Lexie Vaught led the way offensively with 18 points, followed by Kylee Moore with 11. Sydnee Garrett and Desi Ennes both had 5 rebounds to lead the Crusaders.

What's Next

Evangel opens their home schedule on Tuesday, November 6, with a game against Stephens College at 5:30 p.m. in the Ashcroft Center.
