SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel men's basketball team heads to Baker Tuesday night as both teams will battle for their first Heart victory.
SERIES HISTORY
Evangel leads the all-time series 49-17. The Crusaders swept the season series with the Wildcats last year with a 90-81 win in Baldwin City after a 78-72 win in Springfield in January.
OPENING STORYLINES
► Evangel heads to Baker Tuesday night as both teams look for their first win in Heart of America play. The Crusaders enter at 0-2 while Baker sits at 0-3.
► Evangel is looking to snap a four-game skid heading into Tuesday's game. Without Saturday's William Penn loss, the Crusaders have lost their other three games by a combined 13 points with three games being three points or less.
► Junior
Clark Brewington (Pocahontas, Ark.) continues to lead Evangel in scoring at 17.1 points per game. Senior
Luke Call (Mt. Vernon, Mo.) has also seen his average rise to 9.1 points per game after a 20 point effort at William Penn, Call has made nine three-pointers in his last three games.
► Freshman
Cade Coffman (Mtn. Grove, Mo.) continues to help lead Evangel on the boards at 5.8 rebounds per game. Coffman also ranks 13th nationally in offensive rebounding.
LOOKING AHEAD
Evangel returns to the Ashcroft Center Thursday night for a meeting with MidAmerica Nazarene. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
