Des Moines, Iowa – A cold second half by the Evangel women's basketball team allowed the Grand View Vikings to pull away in an 84-56 setback Saturday afternoon.

The Crusaders managed to hang with the Vikings most of the first half trailing just 34-29 at halftime. However, Evangel shot just 27 percent from the field in the second half as Grand View shot 63 percent.

The Vikings also knocked down 14 three-pointers as their perimeter defense was just as stout holding the Crusaders to 3-of-15 shooting from behind the arc.

Sydnee Garrett again led Evangel in scoring with 12 points and seven rebounds. Mackenzie Farmer also finished in double figures in just her fourth game back.

Grand View was led by Bailee Arnburg who scored 17 points while Rachel Danielson added 11 points.

The Crusaders return to Springfield on Wednesday night to host Benedictine. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:300 p.m. inside the Ashcroft Center.
