SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A late goal in the final minutes gave Graceland a 2-1 victory over the Evangel men's soccer team Saturday afternoon in Heart of America Athletic Conference action.

The Crusaders and Yellowjackets were each looking for their first league victory, as Saturday's match needed nearly all 90 minutes to decide a winner.

Graceland jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the match when Rafael Yegros scored in the ninth minute. However, Kyler Moore would score his third goal of the season in the 28th minute to send the game to a 1-1 tie at halftime.

A physical game continued deadlocked until Graceland was able to push the ball into its zone in the 88th minute Jose Maria Ruiz Gomez netted the game-winning goal.

Evangel goalkeeper Josiah Dinwiddie finished with a season-high 12 saves as the Yellowjackets outshot the Crusaders 21-9.
