OSKALOOSA, Iowa – The Evangel men's soccer team dropped its conference opener Saturday night, 2-0, at William Penn.

The Crusaders and Statesmen sat through a lightning delay just before halftime ended with William Penn holding a 1-0 lead. WPU scored on a penalty kick by Diego Navarro in the 27th minute.

Evangel was out-shot by William Penn 18-6 as Josiah Dinwiddie recorded five saves for the Crusaders. Dinwiddie was unable to stop the second goal from Moussa Ndiaye on a pass from Jack Kindell-Brown in the 74th minute.
