SIOUX CENTER, Iowa – A late second half goal pushed the Dordt College Defenders past the Evangel men's soccer team, 3-2, Friday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Crusaders took a 2-1 lead into halftime after goals from Christian Lopez and Julio Quezada. The goal from the Republic native came in the 39th minute for his team-leading, second score of the season.

Lopez tied the game in the 29th minute on an unassisted goal after Dordt scored the game's first goal in the 16th minute.

The Defenders wasted little time in the second half as Garrett Goodson tied the game just three minutes into the second half. However, solid defense by both teams kept the game tied at 2-2 until the 84th minute.

Mason Faucett found the back of the net to give the Defenders the game-winning goal with six minutes to play. Evangel was unable to capitalize falling on the road for the first time this season.

Josiah Dinwiddie tallied four saves as Dordt out-shot Evangel 15-10.
