► Evangel continues its December home stretch Saturday against defending league champion William Penn. The Statesmen are coming off a 33-4 season where they reached the NAIA National Semifinals falling to national champion Texas Wesleyan.
► Freshman Justin Washington continues to lead the Crusaders averaging 15.9 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per game. Washington ranks fifth in total rebounds and 18th in rebounds per game in NAIA Division I.
► Before the two-game win streak, the early season record for the Crusaders hasn't told the entire story of the season so far. Evangel has lost five of its eight games by six points or less.
► During the month of December, the Crusaders will play all five of its games at home. Starting with last Saturday's game vs. Missouri Valley and Tuesday's game vs College of the Ozarks, Evangel plays William Penn Saturday before hosting the Assemblies of God Classic December 29-30 with SAGU, Vanguard, and Cornerstone (Mich.).
LOOKING AHEAD
Evangel will take two weeks off game action before hosting the 4th Annual Assemblies of God Classic presented by DoubleTree by Hilton, December 29 and 30. The Crusaders will host Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Friday at 5 p.m. as Vanguard (Calif.) and Cornerstone (Mich.) will play at 3 p.m. Evangel and Vanguard will the late game Saturday as SAGU and Cornerstone meet in the early game of the classic.
