SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University men's soccer team was shutout Saturday, 8-0, by William Penn in Heart of America Conference action at Coryell Field. 

The Crusaders were shutout for just the fifth time this season as the Statesmen scored a season-high eight goals against Evangel. William Penn outshot Evangel 28-6 in the match as the visitors scored three goals in the first 18 minutes of the match. 

The Statesmen took a 5-0 lead into halftime before adding three more second half goals. 

Goalkeeper Josiah Dinwiddie recorded nine saves in the match while Ryan Harrisskitt finished with four.

Evangel hits the road for its final two matches of the regular season starting Tuesday at MidAmerica Nazarene. Action is scheduled to start in Olathe, Kan., at 3:30 p.m.
