No. 7 Baker Pulls Away Late to Shutout Crusaders

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University men's soccer team fell, 4-0, Tuesday afternoon to 7th-ranked Baker University in Heart Conference action at Coryell Field. 

Evangel held the Wildcats scoreless through the first 30 minutes, but Baker broke through with a goal in the 30th minute from Andres Cooper. The Wildcats would take that 1-0 lead into halftime before a goal in the 48th minute to start the second half pushed the visitors on top 2-0. 

Baker managed to pull away with a pair of goals in the second period, each coming just two minutes apart in the 64th and 66th minute. Austin Halsey scored the final goal after assisting on the first of the match to Cooper. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE                     
- Evangel earned its two best opportunities to score in the first half with three shots.

- The Crusaders were shutout for just the fourth time this season.

- Tuesday was the first home game for the Crusaders since Sept. 27 against Missouri Valley.
