Box Score Chicago, Ill. – Robert Morris (Ill.) rallied with a 14-5 run midway through the second half in an 81-78 win over Evangel on Saturday in Chicago.
The Crusaders led 39-30 at halftime before Robert Morris, ranked 21st in NAIA-II, caught fire and outscored Evangel 51-39 in the second half. The Eagles 14-5 run helped them to the lead with 8:07 remaining, their first advantage on the scoreboard since a 2-0 lead in the game's first two minutes.
Evangel's Marcus Miller came off the bench to score 20 points leading the Crusaders while going 8 for 13 from the field. Former Nixa product Jalen Norman had 16 points and 10 rebounds while Cody Geiger added 16 points.
The Eagles were led by Terrelle Green's 22 points while Corey McCrary had 18.
Evangel dropped to 0-2 on the season while Robert Morris picked up the win playing in their season opener.
The Crusaders are on the road again Tuesday when they face College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m. at the Keeter Gym.
