SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Valor Volleyball hits the road on Friday and Saturday (Aug. 28/29), taking part in the Texas Two-Step, hosted by Texas Wesleyan and Nelson. Evangel will take on Texas A&M-Texarkana and Texas Wesleyan in Fort Worth on Friday, before taking on Our Lady of the Lake and Nelson in Waxahachie on Saturday. Game one begins at 10 AM each day, followed immediately by their next game.
OPENING STORYLINES

The Valor defeated Central Methodist on Tuesday night, 3-2, behind strong performances from Simone Johnson and Charlotte Hawkins.

Johnson currently leads Evangel in kills with 45 so far this year, after a strong 16-kill performance against CMU on Tuesday.

The setting duo of Jessica Pritchett (81 assists) and Brooklyn Claxton (65 assists) currently helps EU average 10.29 assists per set.

Pritchett also leads the Valor in service aces so far this season with six.

Addison Jones has been everywhere defensively for Evangel, currently leading the team with 74 digs, averaging 4.35 per set.

Abby Ferguson leads the team in blocks, currently with 22 this season, averaging 1.29 per set.

In the all-time matchup, Evangel leads Texas A&M-Texarkana (1-0) and Nelson (5-1), but is tied with Texas Wesleyan (3-3), and trails Our Lady of the Lake (1-2).
LOOKING AHEAD
Valor Volleyball remains on the road on Tuesday (Sept. 1) evening, taking on longtime rival College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout at 6:00 p.m.
