NEWTON, Kan. – Valor Women's Golf took part in the KCAC Conference Championship from Monday to Wednesday (Apr. 27-29), aiming to earn a conference title and earn a conference championship. Evangel would battle on the golf course and keep close to the top spot, but ultimately finished in second overall, just 10 strokes behind Kansas Wesleyan, while Catherine Rhoads took the individual title with an impressive effort.

With their finish, head coach Jon Jenkins was named the KCAC Women's Golf Coach of the Year, while freshman Sophie Nall was named the KCAC Freshman of the Year.

Rhoads used an exceptional second round, shooting -1 to pace her overall finish of +12 to take the title, 10 strokes better than the second place finisher. Nall also used a strong second round, shooting +5 to finish in fourth, just five strokes behind second place.

Lillie Mannering tied for 10th overall with a strong final round of +8, but fell in the playoff to ultimately finish in 11th in the standings. Rounding out scores for EU was Cally Gibson, who placed 17th with a +16 in the final round to pace her score.

The Valor (+135) finished behind KCAC champion, Kansas Wesleyan (+125), and beat out Friends (+153), Bethany (+293), and Ottawa (+533).
