SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Baseball concluded the 2026 regular season on Friday (Apr. 24) afternoon, hosting the Friends Falcons and aiming for a three game sweep after taking a pair on Thursday.

Evangel led early, but a big fifth inning for the Falcons hurt the Valor's chances, falling in the finale, 8-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Valor got on the board first on Friday, as Heath Perry singled and scored on a Cade Beshore double to give EU a 1-0 lead.

  • In the top of the fifth, Friends' offense exploded, scoring seven runs to take a 7-1 lead.

  • In the bottom of the fifth, Evangel was able to respond, using a double from Evan Jno-Baptiste, single from Mason Reilly, single from Kannon Perry to score Baptiste, and a single from Justice Loflin to score the other runners, allowing EU to inch closer in a 7-4 game.

  • Friends added an insurance run in the top of the seventh, but Loflin singled and scored on a Beshore single to keep the deficit three, 8-5.

  • The Valor attempted to rally as they had the previous day, but were unable to do so on Friday, falling 8-5 in their regular season finale.

NOTABLE

  • Mason Reilly, Justice Loflin, and Cade Beshore all led Evangel with a pair of hits on Friday.

  • Evangel clinched the seventh seed in the upcoming KCAC tournament, the best finish since joining the KCAC in the 2024 season, and the best finish since 2018.
