NORTH NEWTON, Kan. – Evangel Football hit the road on Saturday (Nov. 7) afternoon, taking on the Bethel College Threshers in Kansas, aiming to take their third consecutive win in conference play. The Valor defense had an exceptional day, holding the Threshers to just 78 yards of offense while Noah Bryant rushed for four touchdowns in a 60-0 shutout win.

After the Evangel defense forced a three-and-out on Bethel's first drive, Noah Bryant used a pair of big runs to put EU into the endzone, leading 7-0. The Valor again forced a Thresher punt, then used a 39-yard pass from Matt Allen to Gunner Ellison to set up a four yard Bryant rush to put EU ahead, 14-0.

Griffin Dyer intercepted a Bethel pass on their next offensive drive, returning it 31 yards to set the Valor up at the Thresher 16-yard line. Bryant once again found the endzone on the following play on a 16-yard rush to extend the EU lead to 21-0. Bethel punted once more in the first quarter and Evangel's Cody Voysey nailed a 20-yard field goal to give the Valor a 24-0 lead at the beginning of the second quarter.

On the second play of Bethel's next drive, Talon Stephens came away with an interception, allowing Bryant to score his fourth rushing touchdown of the game. Bryant's 21-yard rush extended the Valor lead to 30-0 with 12:10 remaining in the second quarter. Both teams punted on their following possessions until Evangel again found the endzone, as Luke Milligan found Broc Lyle for an eight yard touchdown pass to extend the advantage to 37-0. Matt Allen rushed for 60 yards on Evangel's second to last drive in the first half to give EU a 44-0 lead at the halftime break.

Gunner Ellison and Broc Lyle both came up with 20+ yard receptions on Evangel's first drive of the second half, leading to a one yard rush from Sam Clark to give the Valor a 51-0 lead. An errant snap on the following Bethel possession led to a safety, making the score 53-0. Evangel capped off the game with a Kyle Cummings nine yard rush to make it a 60-0 lead, as the Valor defense continued their big day, keeping Bethel off the scoreboard in the win.

Evangel was led by Matt Allen, who threw for 105 yards, while Noah Bryant led EU on the ground with 147 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Gunner Ellison led all receivers with 87 yards on four receptions, while Broc Lyle reeled in Evangel's lone receiving touchdown of the day.

Defensively, Draven VanGilder led the Valor with 10 total tackles, while Gennadiy Dudko led the charge with 2.5 tackles for loss. Griffin Dyer recorded his third consecutive game with an interception, while Talon Stephens reeled in his third interception this season. Kal Acklin led the Valor with a forced fumble on Saturday.
