HILLSBORO, Kan. – Valor Softball hit the road to open KCAC play on Saturday (Mar. 14) afternoon, taking on the Tabor College Bluejays, looking to earn a pair of wins.
10 unanswered runs in game one allowed Evangel to take a 10-2 win over Tabor, while Madi Bentley threw the season's first no-hitter, allowing the Valor to take a 1-0 win and sweep of the Bluejays.

Maddy Meierer earned the win against Tabor, striking out eight batters and earning her 11th win of the season.

Madi Bentley put forth her top outing of the season, holding the Bluejays hitless in her sixth win of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Tabor took an early 2-0 lead in game one, taking advantage of a pair of errors in the inning.

Natalie Morgan opened the second inning by hitting a home run to left field to make the deficit just one run, 2-1.

Evangel trailed until the top of the fourth inning, as Camryn Casey was hit by a pitch, followed by a Natalie Morgan single, Karli Facklam sacrifice bunt, and a Audrey Carlton single to score Casey. A passed ball allowed Morgan to score, while Carlton came across on a Chloe Krans sacrifice fly, making it a 4-2 EU lead.

In the top of the fifth, Kenna Mayfield singled, followed by a Naomi Perkins double. Casey worked a walk to load the bases and a Morgan singled up the middle scored Mayfield and Perkins. An Audrey Carlton single up the middle scored Casey, while Morgan scored on a Lauren Dill sacrifice fly. A Krans singled scored Carlton, making it a 9-2 lead.

After neither team did much offensively in game two, the Valor scored a run in the top of the fifth inning, as Danielle Cutbirth singled and Mayfield walked, with Cutbirth scoring after a throwing error on the Tabor catcher, 1-0.

Madi Bentley kept Tabor off balance the entire game and was able to shut down the Bluejays earning the no-hitter from the circle in EU's 1-0 win in game two.
