YORK, Neb. – Evangel Baseball concluded their series with York on Saturday (Mar. 14) afternoon, looking to take the sweep over the Panthers.
Evangel was unable to overcome early scoring by York, falling 14-3 in seven innings of play, coming up short of the sweep of the KCAC foe.
HOW IT HAPPENED

York took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

Evangel quickly tied the game up at 1-1 in the top of the second, as Justus Cherrico doubled and scored on a Cole Leonhart sacrifice fly.

Three home runs through innings two and three pushed the Panthers out to a 8-1 lead.

In the top of the fourth, Kannon Perry worked a walk, followed by a Dylan Michaelson single, Leonhart single, and Evan Jno-Baptiste sacrifice fly helped EU trail by five, 8-3.

Six unanswered runs from York allowed the Panthers to take a 14-3 lead, as EU was unable to score to avoid the run rule, falling in game three.
