YORK, Neb. – Evangel Baseball hit the road on Friday (Mar. 13) afternoon, taking on the York Panthers in Nebraska, looking to continue to build off a strong Tuesday win.

Evangel scored six runs in both games, which proved to be enough, as EU took a 6-3 and 6-5 win on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Nate Nunes reached on an error in the first inning, scoring on a Quentin Edwards single to give EU a 1-0 lead.

  • Another error allowed Mason Reilly to reach base, scoring on a Evan Jno-Baptiste single to tie the game up at 2-2.

  • Evangel added four runs in the top of the eighth, Cade Beshore walked, followed by a Edwards hit by pitch, with both scoring on a Justus Cherrico double. After Heath Perry worked a walk, Mason Reilly doubled to score Cherrico and H. Perry, giving EU a 6-2 lead.

  • York added a run in the bottom of the ninth, but EU worked out of trouble, earning a 6-3 win in game one.

  • In game two, Cherrico walked in the top of the second, followed by a H. Perry double and Gannon Miller single, scoring Justus to give EU a 1-0 lead. Perry also scored on a ground out in the inning.
