HOW IT HAPPENED
-

-
With Natalie Morgan placed on second to open the bottom of the eighth inning, Audrey Carlton used a sacrifice bunt to advance Morgan, bringing Camryn Casey to the plate. Casey would battle at the plate and with two strikes, the senior ripped a ball to left field that cleared the fence, walking it off for the Valor in an upset win over #9 USAO, 2-0.
-
Evangel jumped out against Mission, using a Kenna Mayfield single and a Naomi Perkins home run to right field to give EU a 2-0 lead over the Patriots.
-
In the top of the second, Chloe Krans singled, scoring on an error, while Danielle Cutbirth also scored on a Perkins ground out, after getting on base via the earlier error.
-
The Valor would not add any additional runs until the top of the sixth, as Cutbirth doubled, followed by a Mayfield single. A Perkins sacrifice fly scored Cutbirth and a Natalie Morgan sacrifice fly scored Mayfield, giving EU a 6-0 lead.
