NIXA, Mo. – Evangel Football concluded their 2026 home schedule on Saturday (Oct. 31) afternoon, hosting the Tabor College Bluejays for senior day. The Valor used a 24 point first half outing to pace scoring on Saturday, led by a record setting day for Broc Lyle en route to a 38-7 victory.
Evangel took the ball first on Saturday, using a huge 61 yard run from quarterback Matt Allen to set up excellent field position. Just three plays later, Allen would hook up with Brady Allen from 18 yards out to give the Valor a 7-0 lead.
A Deuce Johnson sack on third down on Tabor's possession forced a punt, with a big 29-yard rush from Noah Bryant putting the Valor in the redzone. Zuric Humes used the option to run in Evangel's second score of the contest in the first quarter, 14-0.
Erik Spring forced a Bluejays fumble on their first play of the second drive, recovered by his brother, Kenneth Spring. The Tabor defense was able to hold strong on their own 10-yard line, as the Valor had to settle for a 20-yard Cody Voysey field goal, extending the EU lead to 17-0.
Both defenses forced punts on their following possessions, with Tabor missing a 33-yard field goal wide right to give EU the ball on Evangel's 20-yard line. A 21-yard rush from Bryant paired with a 20-yard reception from Broc Lyle put EU back in the redzone and Luke Milligan capped off the drive with a touchdown pass to Lyle, breaking the Evangel school record for touchdown receptions in a career (30).
Both teams traded interceptions on their next drives, as Griffin Dyer came away with Evangel's, but Tabor's appeared to be the result of a missed offsides on the Bluejays that the Valor offense thought they had a free play on. Evangel took a 24-0 lead into the halftime break.
The third quarter wound up scoreless, as neither team was able to find the endzone, keeping the score 24-0. A 28-yard pass to Bryant from Milligan was paired with a 19-yard pass to Lyle for his second score of the day, giving EU a 31-0 lead in the fourth quarter. Tabor took advantage of a strip sack fumble, using the short field to score their only touchdown of the day, 31-7, before the Valor capped off the game on a 10-play, 83 yard drive, as Matt Allen used a QB option to solidify the 38-7 win on Saturday.
Evangel was led by Luke Milligan, who threw for 148 yards and a pair of passing touchdowns, while Noah Bryant led EU on the ground with 79 rushing yards. Broc Lyle led Evangel with a pair of scores on Saturday, breaking James Feazell's 34-year old school record for touchdown receptions in a career. Brady Allen led all receivers in yards finishing his afternoon with 77.
Defensively, Draven VanGilder led the Valor with 14 total tackles, while four Evangel defenders recorded a sack. Griffin Dyer recorded another interception, his second consecutive game with a pick, while Erik Spring forced a fumble in the win.
