SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel Women's Soccer returned home after an extended road trip, taking on the Bethany College Swedes, searching for their first win in conference play. The Valor would dominate from the start, racking up 10 goals in a 10-0 win over the Swedes, behind a hat trick from junior Makayla Myers.

Just six minutes later, Lili Thiessen added her score to double the Valor lead, 2-0. Evangel's offense kept pressure on the Swede defense, as Myers netted her second goal at the 22:02 mark, and finished her afternoon of scoring at the 39:05 mark, adding her third on a pass from Dekeria Carter, making it a 4-0 EU halftime lead.

Bethany opened the second half with a shot on goal that Paige Estes stopped, followed by a McKenzie Calhoun goal. QUOTABLE

"It definitely was awesome to be back home and get the win today. Our goal for the day was a clean sheet and some goals, and the ladies delivered on both sides of that equation," Women's Soccer Head Coach Bruce Deaton stated. "The most exciting part for me was the execution of several things we specifically focused on in training this week that resulted in goals and the overall result. We'll enjoy this for the day and start prepping for our next match on Wednesday."
