ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Evangel Volleyball concluded the UHSP Classic on Saturday (Sept. 13) afternoon, taking on St. Francis and host, UHSP. EU dominated on Saturday, sweeping both opponents and moving to 15-2 on the season.

Evangel opened play against St. Francis on Saturday on a 17-6 run, fueled by five kills coming from junior Cienna Turner. Turner would finish the set with an additional pair of kills as the Valor took a 25-13 win in set one.

A dominant offensive performance in set two, paired with St. Francis' lowest attacking percentage of the afternoon helped the Valor take a 25-11 win in set two.

The Valor took care of business in set three, as Evangel recorded several service aces from Jessie Spears, Brooklyn Claxton, Addison Allen, and Jessica Pritchett to complete the sweep of St. Francis, 25-18.

The Evangel offense picked up right where they left off against UHSP, using dominant offense to push their way to victory against the winless Eutectics. Six kills from Vivianna Sanchez in the period helped push the Valor to a 25-18 win in set one.

After Sanchez recorded six kills in the first set, Bella Wakley would use five kills to lead the Valor to the win in set two, 25-13. Despite UHSP scoring 4 points early in the set, EU outscored the home team, 24-9, the remainder of the set.

The final set of play for Evangel on Saturday proved to be their most competitive with UHSP, as the Eutectics would play a tied game with Evangel all the way to 22-22. A service error from UHSP, paired with kills from Sydney Bryan and Simone Johnson pushed the Valor to victory, 25-22.
